To detox or not.....that is the question. **Warning!!! Pics are gross!!**

While you may not think that detox is part of the "Future Mrs. Buckles" blog, I believe it is.  It's funny the hoops one will jump through before going to a dress boutique.....just ask me.  I am a fad dieter and I believe in "quick fixes".  The biggest reason I am or believe is because I am not interested in taking the longer and often smarter path to achieve results.  That's not to say that I am not counting calories and weighing because I am.  I am currently maintaining under on my daily caloric count and weigh in at 122.8.  (I weigh heavy....it's the cheeks and boobs.... :-)  I will never be a poster child for healthy living.  I push the envelope on anything and everything that one could indulge in.  I enjoy that lifestyle.  I firmly believe no one gets out alive and quote myself anytime I am in need of an excuse to be unhealthy or to indulge.  ;-)  I have hung on to the memory of Wendy's Big Bacon Classic from Saturday night to get me through this week.  Sad, maybe.....true, absolutely.

I say all of that to share how I arrived at my decision to try an ionic foot detox.....  If you read my other blog you know I tried the 3 day green smoothie challenge.... BLAH!!!  I have a massage therapist and friend that has, what I would describe as, a different outlook on life that I absolutely love.  I'm not sure I could ever live the life she does but she inspires me to at least look at the world different.  She's not full of opinion, never imposes her lifestyle and allows me to read the research to form my own opinion.  She read my posts regarding the detox/green smoothie challenge and invited me to try the ionic foot detox.  She pointed me to information and I was in.  I went today and it was so cool.....and gross. Again, I had researched and looked at pictures so I was somewhat forewarned.  I actually expected my water to explode in ALL colors.....especially black.  If you are confused by that please refer back to poster child for healthy living.

I didn't want to post a blog that didn't contain information regarding the foot detox because I know how hard it is to actually research something so I have linked you to information that I found helpful. The purpose of an ionic foot detox is to improve overall health by ridding the body of toxins that we come in contact everyday in many, many ways.  You can read more here.... http://www.ionicfootdetox.com/index.html
It's not so much about losing weight or being dress ready as it is an approach for overall better health.  Ionic foot detox can improve many health conditions.  "An ionic foot detox machine is a modern energy therapy device which balances the body's natural energy system. By introducing a high level of negative ions into the water of a foot bath, the feet, utilizing principles of reflexology and the science of ionization and osmosis, create a positive cellular environment and enable the body's natural detoxification processes to function at their peak." (www.ionicfootdetox.com)

So back to my detox.....  I went to Danielle's house today.  I can't convey how excited I was to be invited into her home!  She has an awesome garden plan that I wanted to see and so much more!!  I regret that those of you reading this will most likely be seen at her place of business, should you choose to contact her, but I must share that part of my field trip excitement was going to her home.  :)  Danielle got me set up in the foot detox basin.

We waited and watched.....  The colors started showing immediately!  If you think the above is gross you just wait....  The process takes a little more than 30 minutes and the above pic is 5 minutes in.

I warned you.......  This is the close up of more than halfway through the session.....

Here is the end result....

And the color chart......
So now, if you are not bored, you are wondering about results.  This is my first time and the expectation is to feel better overall and reduce the amount of toxins "pulled" in each session.  Here is what I found regarding results on the web.....

"What One Sees...

What’s really interesting is what one observes after experiencing a series of  Ionic Foot Baths! With continued sessions one will start noticing that the water in the foot bath becomes less discolored and remains more like clear water. This is a sign of being cleansed from accumulated toxic build-up in the body. Digital photographs of the water of the Ionic Foot Bath are taken after each session, so one can see visually the dramatic changes that are occurring in the water of the foot bath; in that it is now becoming more clear and less polluted with toxins (or particulate) from the body. Distilled water (pure water) is used as the water medium in the Ionic Foot Bath, void of any other toxins, metals, impurities etc. as often found in “regular” tap water. This enables one to see  visually what truly presents in the water in terms of released toxins from the body following an Ionic Foot Bath Detoxification."

I can't wait until my next session with Danielle!!  Here is her contact info if you are interested.... Did I mention she is an awesome massage therapist and has ashiatsu bars?!?!?  Oh yeah!!!  Google it if you don't know....  :)

There's an app for that!

After coming home from the engagement trip in Las Vegas, I immediately got busy with wedding plans.  Hahaha!  I crack myself up.  In my defense, it did seem like progress at the time.  We narrowed down the dates to two, I started recording Say Yes to the Dress and I found a couple of iPad apps. :) This was in August.  I did watch several, several episodes and attempted to be on the show.  Who doesn't want to go to Kleinfeld's in New York AND be on television?  Unfortunately, the show schedule and my timeline didn't work out so I couldn't go even if they wanted me.  Who wouldn't want ME?  I was certain I would be the best bride to be EVER!!  I invested more time in Say Yes to the Dress and Four Weddings than I did using my apps. I remember Misty asking me about my planning progress and then her laughter when I told her I had downloaded some apps.  With all of that being said, I get to my blog topic for today.....  There's an app for that!

I decided this morning that I would dedicate some time to creating an actual game plan for planning.  Sounds good in theory.  I naturally reached for the device that stays within 5 feet of me at all times....my iPad.  I looked for the apps I had downloaded months ago but vaguely remembered they had some shortcomings.  The biggest shortcoming was that they didn't know immediately what I wanted.  Ha!  Found them right where I left them and logged in.  YAY!!  They had rolled out updates that improved the features of one app significantly!

My app of choice is TheKnot Wedding Planner.  It is awesome!  I sat for quite some time looking at different dresses, hairstyles and flowers all in one nice, neat place.  It also turned me on to a different dress designer that I really like.

I had been looking for a site that actually suggested dress styles for certain body types with more descriptors than the generic pear, apple, big boobed, etc.  I found it at http://www.henryroth.com/tip2.php and it's exactly what I had hoped to find.

While my progress may not seem significant, it really was.  I have been having a hard time wrapping my head around the things that needed to be done and a way to organize all of those things.  Now, I just have to start choosing things that I like.

I mentioned finding a artist/stylist in Vegas for hair and makeup that I like.  I have talked with her some more and she will even take care of Anna's hair.....not a small task.  She will also do a trial run on me the day or two before if I want!  http://www.facebook.com/ConstanzaYael  My next task in this department is finding a website that tells me which wedding 'do is best for a really round face with chipmunk cheeks....

Silver Bucket or Sand Pail......Hmmmm

I suppose I was caught off guard yesterday when MB asks about pew markers & buckets. What?!?!? Apparently, Rebecca, the Bellagio wedding planner has a list of initial questions that we need to answer. I sit there for a few seconds trying to wrap my wee little brain around what he is asking before I answer..... No luck. What are those?!?! "I don't know. I'm going to have to look that up." Lucky for me they have them readily displayed on their website. Who can plan this starting from scratch is what I wonder, trying to focus on the pictures. We did manage to choose silver buckets rather quickly but I think both of us were secretly thinking of sand pails....far, far away sand pails on a deserted beach. Okay, so maybe that was just my thought.... :)

As I have said in previous posts, my MB is a planner! He flew through those questions! I can't say how Rebecca feels about his answers but they looked good to me! I do know some of them said something about the bride not knowing yet....oops. I felt relieved when he hit "Send", thinking that was all for the day.....not so much. Later, I hear music. I don't mean radio station music. It's the sound of flutes, violins, pianos, and some hideous female singing..... MB has an app for wedding music. I CAN say that my reaction to the singing female was noted.... She will not be at my wedding....that's one thing I do know!

On a different note, I did contact a makeup & hair artist! (See... I can do something!) I looked through her work & I like it!!

Now back to my day of being a nursemaid and mother! Until next time....

Thoughts are like ping pong balls...unless they are more like bowling balls.

Isn't it funny how when you are in the shower you have great ideas but when you sit down in front of your laptop they are gone.....  It's not that I am thinking about a wedding dress style or music selections yet.  It's the fleeting thought of "I should make a list of things to do and this is what should be on the list" while shaving my legs.  Speaking of shaving legs, I often wonder why I bother in this crazy weather unless it's simply to stave off gorilla legs.  Speaking of gorilla legs, have you seen my gorilla pics on Facebook?  Uh oh.... Obviously off track again....  See what I mean?  Ping pong ball versus bowling ball.  It seems that with normal train of thought my thoughts are like ping pong balls but when I try to think of wedding plans the thoughts resemble bowling balls after a granny bowl.  Why is that?  I am amazed at my lack of knowledge regarding wedding etiquette and see a lot of Googling in my future. How I wish I had "pulled a Monica" and kept a binder full of wedding wishes. *Sigh*

Things are starting to sink in.....

I've known for several weeks that my wedding date is set and plans are in the works, but until today I have been dealing in typical Beege fashion....that would be ummmm, well, the opposite of dealing......NOT dealing.  Disclaimer:  I am a procrastinator and often compliment self on working well under pressure.  I've been hearing all of the travel conversations "playing" in the background or the staff incorporating the big day into the show or other events but quite frankly, I have not been paying attention.  None of the above is intended to be negatively heard and if you know me very well, you know that this is simply how I am.....it keeps me sane....well, as sane as I can be.  The above is also a sneak peek into the lives of MB and Beege.  MB is the planner of our adventures and I like it that way.  I suppose I thought I could somehow prepare for this adventure like I would any of our others......just pack a bag.  That approach is not looking good....  As I type this, I see little Outlook calendar requests floating across my screen.  MB is booking flights.  The Bellagio was booked weeks ago.  Karen (music & in the engagement picture) was booked weeks ago.  No danger of me being a Bridezilla....I will be the Brideslacker.  Oh dear.
